Job summary

Action Staffing Group is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Supervisor for a food distributor in The Bronx, NY to lead QA initiatives in a manufacturing setting. You will ensure products meet safety and regulatory standards, driving continuous improvement and compliance across production processes.

The role emphasizes collaboration with inspectors, internal audits, and training to uphold consumer trust and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field.
• 3+ years QA in perishable food manufacturing, seafood preferred.
• Knowledge of FDA/USDA regulations and GFSI audits.
• HACCP certification required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement local site documents with direction from direct supervisor.
• Interact with USDA/FDA/shellfish inspectors to ensure ongoing compliance with federal regulations and timely resolution of deficiencies.
• Support facility compliance to policy and regulations through onsite monitoring and verification activities.
• Ensure regulatory inspections (Pre-operational, Operational, CCP, temperature, etc.) and records are conducted and reviewed.
• Support new vendor approval with direction from direct manager.
• Create a schedule of internal audits, lead or support execution, track findings and close corrective actions.
