Job summary

The Winn-Dixie Company in Florida is seeking an experienced seafood department supervisor to assist in managing daily operations, promote fresh, high-quality products, and deliver courteous customer service. This role balances hands-on leadership with administrative duties and requires adherence to food safety standards.

You will train and develop team members, manage scheduling, and execute merchandising plans while monitoring shrink, inventory and product quality.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.
• Pre-employment drug testing and background check.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knife handling skills and knife speed.
• Knowledge of cutting, traying, wrapping, and labeling.
• Proficient with computer applications used in operating the department. Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Creates an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated that will increase customer confidence and loyalty.
• Ensures the department is merchandised per plan and maintains product availability, freshness, quality and value.
• Delivers samples, answers questions and assists customers in finding products.
• Assists in promoting trust among associates, fostering teamwork and communicating information.
• Manages schedules to ensure tasks are completed with high levels of customer service, especially during peak hours.
• Maintains safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance, including safety risk reporting and equipment checks.
• Performs daily and weekly administrative tasks, inventories and pricing changes, and records temperate logs as required.
