Job summary

Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace in Bloomfield Township, MI is seeking a Seafood/Meat Dept team member. You will prepare and display seafood and meat products, weigh and price items, and assist customers with selections while following safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include receiving shipments, stocking cases, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring proper labeling and product rotation. Must lift up to 25 pounds and work in cold environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to work in extreme cold and wet/humid conditions.
• Ability to work in a 45° to 50º environment.
• Ability to count, separate and weigh all meat products.
• Must stand and/or walk for 8+ hours.
• Must bend, lift and/or move 25 pounds regularly.
• Must be able to use knives, box cutters, slicers, meat cutters (18+).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and place seafood cuts and products in display counter as guidelines.
• Receive and unload shipments following department procedures.
• Stock meat cases with quality and proper rotation.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment per regulations.
• Assist customers with selections and cooking/recipes guidance.
• Weigh, price, wrap, prep, and cut seafood selections.
• Prepare seafood per company recipes.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Operate equipment per safety guidelines.
• Maintain knowledge of product quality, prices, and preparation methods.
• Handle damaged/spoiled products per guidelines.
• Comply with weights, measures laws and labeling requirements.
• Notify management of safety or equipment issues.
• Assist in training associates when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
