General Function:
Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service. Wraps, trims, stocks cases, and receives merchandise in the Seafood Department.

Reporting Relations:
Reports to District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Manager of Perishables, Store Operations, and Health Wellness Home; Seafood Department Manager; Assistant Seafood Department Manager; Service Managers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides friendly customer service, exhibits caring, concern, and patience, and treats customers as the most important people in the store.
- Greets customers with a smile, learns and uses their names when possible.
- Answers calls promptly and assists customers via phone, including taking orders.
- Works with co-workers to ensure customer satisfaction and a positive work environment.
- Wraps, weighs, labels, and stocks seafood products, ensuring freshness and proper display.
- Practices proper sanitation and maintains a clean work area.
- Replenishes and organizes coolers; reports out-of-stock items.
- Follows personal hygiene and dress guidelines, reports to work on time.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares signage, orders merchandise, assists in other store areas, and performs additional duties as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
- Commitment to Hy-Vee's mission and values.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and perform basic math.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions, request supplies orally or in writing.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Food Safety training.
- At least six months of related work experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to see detail, differentiate colors, and have a broad field of vision.
- Ability to exert up to 85 pounds of force occasionally, 40 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.
- Performs balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions:
Cool, damp environment with frequent noise, cleaning solvents, and electrical hazards. Fast-paced setting.
Equipment:
Knives, grinders, Patty Maker, slicer, pallet jack, tumbler, wrapping system.
Contacts:
Daily interaction with customers and vendors.
The starting wage is $15.00 to $18.75 per hour, depending on experience.
