Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the SDN Control Plane team in Redmond, WA. You will design and build a scalable, high-throughput network control plane for the Leo satellite network, delivering reliable broadband services to customers.

You will work on routing, forwarding, traffic engineering, and operational tooling, with code in C and Rust, collaborating across satellites, gateways, cloud services, and terrestrial networks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver a modern, scalable network architecture with high throughput and low latency.
• Implement Routing and Forwarding, Traffic Engineering, and SDN technologies.
• Implement highly-available software that will drive networking control plane operation on physical and remote nodes.
• Define and automate processes used for software development, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
• Provide operational excellence for control plane services, including enabling tools and refinement of operational processes.
• Develop routing control plane software for network nodes in C and Rust.
