Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test II to join the Video Codec Quality Engineering team. You will design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks and CI pipelines to ensure reliability and performance of the PlayStation SDK video codec stack.

Lead API-level test automation, write robust C++/Python test code, and work with codec developers to expand coverage while triaging issues and improving tooling across PlayStation platforms.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in software development in test or QA automation.
• Strong hands-on coding in C++ and Python.
• Experience designing and implementing API test automation frameworks.
• Solid understanding of software testing methodologies.
• Ability to debug complex issues across software and hardware layers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for PlayStation SDK video codec software/hardware components.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to support testing and release validation.
• Develop and extend API-level test automation to validate codec SDK interfaces, functionality, and performance.
• Write robust test code in C++ and Python for various test scenarios.
• Investigate test failures, triage bugs, and coordinate with development teams to resolve issues.
• Collaborate with codec developer teams to translate features into test plans and coverage.
• Monitor test results and CI dashboards to flag quality risks and coverage gaps.
• Contribute to test infrastructure improvements and documentation.
