Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Contract SDET II to help build reliable subscription and streaming experiences across PlayStation platforms in Irvine, CA. You will own testing and automation for key features, collaborating with software engineers, product managers, and QE teams.

The role emphasizes solving complex automation challenges, expanding test coverage, and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines while ensuring high quality across APIs, mobile apps, and backend services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years in SDET, SWE, QE, or Test Automation.
• Experience with automated tests and test frameworks.
• Experience testing APIs, backend services, web/mobile apps.
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and modern practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated testing for subscription services and connected platforms.
• Own quality activities for features from test planning to release validation.
• Collaborate early to identify quality risks and testing approaches.
• Build reusable automation tools and framework capabilities.
• Validate end-to-end journeys including authentication, commerce, entitlements, subscription lifecycle, retention, and streaming.
• Create tests for APIs, backend services, distributed systems, web and mobile apps.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and improve test execution reliability.
• Investigate complex failures and perform root-cause analysis with engineering teams.
• Contribute to quality metrics, dashboards, and release readiness.
• Collaborate with globally distributed teams on integration testing and release qualification.
