Akamai is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test II to lead test strategy for our Linux kernel and OS imaging processes, and to design scalable automation for hardware validation and performance. You will work with a team of senior engineers across CI and testing infrastructure.

Your role focuses on building test suites for new hardware, porting modifications to newer kernel versions, and debugging complex low-level issues in diverse environments to ensure reliability of Akamai's global

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent.
• Solid experience in scripting (Python/Shell/Perl) with some experience in software validation in C.
• Familiarity with Linux kernel internals including hardware drivers (pcie, gpu, ethernet, KVM, virtio, memory management, filesystems, block IO, TCP/IP).
• Familiarity with x86 and server-class arm64 architectures.
• Familiarity with Linux kernel and hardware debugging tools, performance benchmarking, and CI frameworks.

Responsabilités

• Design, build, and scale automated test frameworks to validate hardware compatibility, performance, reliability, and security of Akamai's Linux kernel and OS imaging process.
• Develop test suites validating new hardware designs and port Akamai modifications to newer Linux kernel/VM infrastructure versions.
• Debug, isolate, and troubleshoot complex low-level system issues in testing and simulated production environments.
• Architect and enhance build and test automation to achieve robust CI/testing.
• Learn new technical skills with senior engineers to improve testing quality.
