Job summary

CrowdStrike is seeking an experienced SDET Engineering Manager to lead the quality engineering efforts within the AI Detection and Response (AIDR) team. You will guide a team of SDETs responsible for end-to-end validation of AI-driven services that handle millions of events per second and petabytes of data.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software development/SDET roles, including 3+ years in engineering management leading SDET/quality teams.
• Hands-on coding ability to build production-grade test frameworks and debug distributed systems.
• Experience building testing frameworks and tooling for Cloud SaaS/SOA at scale.
• Experience defining and driving testing strategy at team/organizational level.
• Strong debugging skills for complex distributed architectures.
• Expertise in Go, Python, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Deep experience with cloud stacks and distributed systems (Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka).
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or OCI services and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven ability to hire, develop, and retain high-performing engineers while remaining technically hands-on.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of SDETs while building test frameworks and automation.
• Own and drive testing strategy across functional, performance, contract, and chaos testing for the AIDR platform.
• Be hands-on with production issues, tracing calls and writing regression tests.
• Participate in code/design reviews with a quality-first lens.
• Define and maintain quality gates across CI/CD pipelines.
• Partner with backend/UI managers to align on testing standards and tooling.
• Manage team capacity, sprint planning, and delivery commitments.
• Contribute to service operations, observability, and quality improvements to prevent outages.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard top SDET talent; mentor growth.
