Job summary

Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) offers a Software Development Engineer Intern position for Summer 2027. Interns will own end-to-end code from design through deployment, work on distributed systems, and impact customers worldwide.

This 12-week in-person program requires enrollment in a bachelor’s or higher, 40 hours/week, and availability across US locations. Candidates must be able to obtain TS/SCI clearance with polygraph; location options include Arlington, Seattle, Denver, and more.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/CE/DS or related STEM field.
• Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language.
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, and OO design principles.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools.
• Willing to work 40 hours/week for 12 weeks internship.
• Expected degree conferred between Oct 2027–Sep 2029.
• Have at least one quarter/semester/trimester remaining after internship concludes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across teams to design, build, and operate innovative products and services.
• Break down complex, ambiguous problems into well-defined components.
• Contribute to scalable, reliable services with distributed systems scope.
• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and validate correctness.
• Contribute to clear and accurate technical documentation.
• Use AI-assisted tools to enhance development productivity and validate AI-generated code.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices.
• Work in an agile environment with CI/CD and on-call duties.
• Demonstrate operational excellence through monitoring and troubleshooting.
