Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is offering Fall Software Development Engineer (SDE) internship roles in the AWS Data Services organization. The 12-week program starts in Aug/Sept 2026 and provides hands-on experience with scalable cloud-native systems, mentoring, and real project impact.

Interns will work in an office environment, up to 40 hours per week, with opportunities to contribute to GenAI initiatives and modern development practices while preparing for a full-time career in software engineering.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related STEM fields.
• Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language such as Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Able to work 40 hours/week and commit to a 12-week internship.
• Expected conferral date between January 2027 - December 2029.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to design, build, and operate innovative products and services.
• Design and develop scalable cloud-native architectures and microservices.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation.
• Build and maintain resilient distributed systems that scale and are cost-effective.
• Leverage GenAI and AI-powered tools to enhance development productivity.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and patterns.
• Work in an agile environment with CI/CD and production responsibilities.
• Demonstrate operational excellence through monitoring and troubleshooting production issues.
