Job summary

Amazon Web Services Development Center Germany GmbH - R28 is seeking a Software Development Engineer intern. You will own code from design to deployment, work on scalable cloud‑native services, and contribute to AI powered tooling in a fast‑paced, mentorship‑driven environment.

Internships across seasons are full‑time, typically 40 hours/week, with in‑office work in Germany. Expected duration is 5–6 months, with opportunities for personal and professional development provided by Amazonians.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/CE/DS or related STEM fields with expected graduation October 2026–September 2029.
• Experience with at least one general‑purpose programming language such as Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Must be 18 years or older and eligible for an internship in Germany.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams to design, build, and operate AI‑powered products and services.
• Develop scalable cloud‑native solutions using microservices in a large distributed environment.
• Participate in code reviews, CI/CD, and maintain technical documentation.
• Build resilient distributed systems that are scalable, fault‑tolerant, and cost‑efficient.
• Demonstrate ownership from design through deployment and ongoing operations.
