Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to join the Growth and Onboarding tech team. You will own feature design, development, testing, and deployment of components shaping how Amazonians discover upskilling opportunities from Day 1.

You will collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and learning scientists to build reliable, scalable systems and help define career trajectories for millions of employees worldwide.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Responsibilities

• Own the feature design, development, testing, and deployment of components that directly shape onboarding and upskilling experiences for Amazonians.
• Design and build reliable, scalable distributed systems from the ground up.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Learning Scientists to answer questions about how people learn and grow at Amazon.
• Maintain high standards across the full software development lifecycle — design, development, documentation, testing, and operations.
• Position offers high visibility to senior leadership on a greenfield platform.
