Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer II for the BDT Insights team to design and build scalable components powering data catalog, discovery, and transformation at scale. You will work across the full software lifecycle, collaborating with engineers, scientists, and analysts, while mentoring peers and shaping technical direction.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable distributed systems for large-scale data processing
• Partner with internal customers to understand data needs and deliver data solutions
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle including design, code review, testing, deployment and ops
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing
• Evaluate emerging technologies and make adoption recommendations
