Job summary

Amazon's AWS Supply Chain team is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to design and build the simulation platform and optimization algorithms that determine how we replenish AWS data centers worldwide.

You will own core components and deliver features across the full software lifecycle, from design through deployment, collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders.

Your work will directly impact AWS's ability to serve millions of customers and support the rapid growth of cloud computing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years designing and developing large‑scale, multi‑tiered, multi‑threaded, distributed software applications.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement core components of the simulation platform and optimization algorithms that power AWS data center replenishment planning across global operations.
• Own significant portions of the planning system, delivering features across the full software lifecycle from design through deployment, testing, and operational support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and customers to translate complex supply chain requirements into scalable maintainable software solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure high code quality standards across the team.
• Drive operational excellence by identifying root causes of system issues and implementing permanent fixes.
