Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Sr. Software Development Engineer to design, build, and operate large‑scale distributed systems for AWS Fulfillment Planning and Execution in Arlington, VA.

You will architect solutions that explain deviations, drive system‑level improvements, and mentor engineers across a global, fast‑moving team. You will collaborate with demand planning, supply chain operations, and partner teams to deliver reliable, scalable software that supports AWS customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate large‑scale distributed systems that power AWS infrastructure fulfillment planning and execution.
• Architect solutions that detect and explain deviations between build plans and execution outcomes.
• Drive technical vision and strategy for plan‑to‑execution convergence.
• Write high‑quality, modular, testable code and set engineering excellence standards.
• Solve complex architecture and business problems with scalable solutions on native AWS services.
• Mentor engineers on design, coding, operational excellence, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with demand planning, supply chain operations, and partner engineering teams.
• Influence technical decisions across the broader Infrastructure Supply Chain Automation organization.
