Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to build inventory and warehouse management systems powering AWS global infrastructure.

You will collaborate with supply chain professionals, security experts, and operations managers to deliver scalable solutions and maintain system reliability. You will own features from design through deployment, work closely with business stakeholders, and help optimize the physical and financial control of inventory across AWS’s global

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable software solutions for inventory and warehouse management systems that support AWS's global infrastructure operations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to deliver integrated solutions that meet business requirements
• Participate actively in code review processes, providing meaningful feedback to teammates and ensuring high-quality, maintainable code across the team
• Take operational responsibility for software systems, identifying root causes of issues and implementing permanent fixes to improve system reliability and performance
• Work with customers and stakeholders to understand business value and requirements, ensuring software solutions align with long-term architectural strategy and customer needs
