Job summary

Amazon Digital Acceleration is hiring a Software Development Engineer II to help design, implement, and deploy AI-native feature standardizations in Java on AWS for digital clients across Prime, Kindle, and related services.

You will work with Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, and engineers to ensure scalable, reliable ordering, subscriptions, and device management, while improving code quality and performance across multiple business lines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and deploy AI-native feature standardizations in Java on AWS that digital clients across Amazon can adopt with zero custom integration.
• Integrate AI models and AI knowledge bases into commerce workflows, staying current with new technologies to improve productivity and code quality.
• Write logical, well-organized, and maintainable code using optimal data structures and algorithms, making thoughtful trade-offs between performance and readability.
• Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, and peer engineers on scoping, code reviews, and operational support to ship high-quality software.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and contribute to improving system reliability across the ordering platform.
