Amazon.com Services LLC in Seattle is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to help define and drive the next evolution of developer productivity across Amazon-scale serverless runtimes. You will design and implement features, contribute to the full software lifecycle, mentor engineers, and apply AI tools to improve productivity and code quality in a highly scalable, secure environment.

Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience.
1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Responsibilities

Design and implement software features and improvements across major portions of your team's systems, balancing functional requirements with scalability, performance, and security considerations.
Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including working backwards from customer needs, system design, coding, testing, deployment, and operational support.
Evaluate and integrate generative artificial intelligence tools where appropriate to augment productivity and code quality, applying responsible practices to refine outputs.
Mentor and coach fellow engineers through code reviews and technical discussions, raising the quality bar for your team's software and documentation.
Identify root causes of operational issues and drive permanent fixes, while proactively recommending improvements to your team's technical processes and systems.
