Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Software Development Engineer II in Digital Ordering Services to design, implement, and deploy AI-native features that digital product lines can adopt with zero custom integration.

You will write production-ready Java code on AWS, collaborate with TPMs and PMs, and contribute across the full software development lifecycle to build a standardized commerce layer behind Amazon’s products.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and deploy AI-native feature standardizations in Java on AWS that digital clients across Amazon can adopt with zero custom integration.
• Write logical, well-organized, and maintainable code using optimal data structures and algorithms, making thoughtful trade-offs between performance and readability.
• Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, and peer engineers on scoping, code reviews, and operational support to ship high-quality software.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and contribute to improving system reliability across the ordering platform.
• Integrate AI models and AI knowledge bases into commerce workflows, staying current with new technologies to improve productivity and code quality.
