Job summary

Amazon Leo's Satellite Engineering and Mechanicals Development team seeks a Software Development Engineer to advance AI-assisted electrical design tools powering next‑gen satellite hardware. You will design scalable services, manage end-to-end feature delivery in AWS, and work with electrical and hardware engineers to translate domain needs into robust software solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale multi-tiered distributed software applications and services.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable services and tools across the AI-assisted electrical design toolset.
• Own end-to-end delivery of features from design through implementation, testing, and deployment in AWS.
• Build and optimize data pipelines and APIs supporting electrical engineering workflows.
• Collaborate with electrical and hardware engineers to translate domain needs into robust software solutions.
• Drive integration across engineering tools and internal platform services for seamless data flow.
• Contribute to AI-driven capabilities like automated schematic review and natural-language design queries.
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and governance initiatives.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster technical excellence and ownership.
• Troubleshoot production issues ensuring high availability of platform services.
