Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle is seeking a Software Development Engineer to help build the core evaluation engine for AWS Config Rules, enabling security compliance at scale across thousands of accounts and regions.

You will own end-to-end infrastructure, design scalable services, and collaborate with teams across Config, Resource Explorer, Security Hub, and governance. A strong emphasis on on-call readiness and code quality is stated.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience for systems.
• 1+ years of SDE or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale distributed software applications.
• 1+ years of OO design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in CS/Engineering/Math.
• Experience programming with at least one programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate high-scale distributed services powering the evaluation engine.
• Own solutions across design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and support.
• Improve scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency as adoption grows.
• Build capabilities to expand how customers evaluate and enforce compliance.
• Participate in on-call rotation and drive root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Config, Resource Explorer, Security Hub, and governance teams.
• Contribute to engineering culture through code reviews and mentorship.
