Job summary

Amazon’s AWS Contract Onboarding team in New York seeks a Software Development Engineer to build systems that parse, interpret, and ingest Private Pricing Agreements for automated billing at global scale. You will write high-quality, testable code in Java, Kotlin, Python, and TypeScript, design AI/LLM pipelines, and operate distributed services with AWS Lambda, SQS, and DynamoDB to enable accurate billing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence.
• Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

Responsibilities

• Own all aspects of the software development lifecycle - design, architecture, implementation, testing, and operations for contract onboarding systems.
• Design and build contract parsing and term extraction pipelines using AI/LLM techniques.
• Own and operate distributed systems processing confidential contractual data under demanding SLAs.
• Build event-driven architectures using AWS services (Lambda, Step Functions, SQS, DynamoDB).
• Collaborate with Product Managers and partner engineering teams to define scope and technical direction.
• Contribute to planning, design, implementation, testing, operations, and process improvement.
