Job Description

3Pillar is an AI transformation partner on a mission to help enterprises build the AI-native products and intelligent agents that will define the next era of business. With teams across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia, we work with the most ambitious companies in financial services, healthcare, media, and technology — helping them move faster, modernize boldly, and compete on their own terms. Our HelixAI platform and Helix Pods delivery model put our engineers at the center of real agentic transformation — doing work that is open, portable, and built to last. We are building the future of enterprise AI.

At 3Pillar, we don't just write code; we craft cutting-edge technologies that revolutionize industries. As a member of the Technology Operations team, the Contractor Scrum Master will play a critical role in facilitating and optimizing agile processes across cross-functional Agile software project teams — guiding software development teams in the efficient, high-quality delivery of work, driving continuous improvement, and championing agile methodologies to ensure successful project execution and value delivery. By fostering a collaborative and adaptable team environment, you will enhance alignment with organizational goals, support the team in overcoming challenges, and promote agile best practices that ensure project transparency, accountability, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties and/or skills required. Other duties may be assigned.

Organize and lead agile events, including daily scrum, sprint reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, and backlog refinement sessions.

Proactively identify and resolve any impediments to a scrum team's progress, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.

Promote and embed agile standards, tools, and best practices, coaching the team on enterprise standards related to IT, security, quality, and architecture to minimize operational risks.

Utilize team feedback and metrics (e.g., quality, cadence) to identify improvement areas, working collaboratively with the team to achieve operational excellence.

Facilitate communication between team members and leaders across the organization to maintain transparency around delivery progress, challenges, and risks.

Work closely with Product Owners to maintain an organized, prioritized backlog that aligns with project goals and delivery capabilities.

Experiment with new practices and frameworks to enhance team outcomes, advocating for continuous learning and improvement.

Represent the team at larger planning and coordination sessions (e.g., Scrum of Scrums), fostering collaboration across teams.

Support teams in using agile planning and development tools like Jira and Confluence for streamlined project management.

Provides subject matter expertise, guidance, and coaching to agile team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and self-management.

Actively engage in learning opportunities to strengthen agile knowledge and capabilities, including participation in communities of practice or conferences.

Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.

In partnership with leadership and People Operations, ensuring equitable practices and experiences to strengthen inclusion acumen, and promote a culture of inclusivity and belonging that embraces the contributions of all team members.

Actively participate in cross-organizational working groups and activities to support the development and maintenance of Common App culture.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Agile Expertise: Deep understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), with practical knowledge of agile frameworks and techniques, and a deep understanding of technical concepts and industry trends.

Facilitation & Coaching: Proficiency in facilitating agile events and coaching teams toward collaborative and effective interactions; exhibits leadership qualities by guiding and mentoring junior team members.

Analytical & Communication Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills within an agile context, paired with excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities that simplify complex information for diverse audiences.

Tooling: Experience with agile planning and development tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

Stakeholder & Conflict Management: Ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders, build strong collaborative relationships, and skillfully resolve conflicts within teams and with stakeholders.

Experience & Education: 4-6 years of experience; Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Business, Project Management) or equivalent experience; Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM), or equivalent certification.

Additional Experience Desired

Engagement Techniques: Familiarity with techniques like Liberating Structures, Lean Coffee, or retrospective formats that enhance team engagement.

Cross-Functional Alignment: Proven ability to work closely with Product, Design, and QA teams to align on goals and objectives across functions.

Technical Fluency: While not required to code, a background in software development, systems architecture, or DevOps practices to better understand technical challenges and constraints.

Scaled Agile Knowledge: Knowledge of SAFe or other Scaled Agile Frameworks; SAFe Agilist (SA) or Leading SAFe certification, or an Advanced Scrum Master credential, is a plus.
