Job summary

Ascyndent in Cleveland, OH seeks an experienced Scrum Master/Product Owner to drive agile delivery across multiple teams. You will facilitate ceremonies, remove impediments, and ensure alignment with business goals and stakeholder expectations.

You have 3–5 years of agile experience, hold a PSM or CSM certification, and bring a background in insurance or financial services. You excel at servant leadership, metrics-driven decision making, and collaboration across functionally diverse groups.

A day in the life…

Supports Scrum teams/Development teams:

• Lead the team to success by working across groups to drive discussion & engagement in an agile software development cycle
• Organize and facilitate reviews, retrospectives, sprint, train and release planning, demos, and other Scrum-related activities
• Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress.
• Maintains process documentation
• Ensure teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility
• Coach to ensure self-organization and cross-functionality
• Maintain data integrity of agile tracking systems to provide transparency on product and sprint backlog
• Remove impediments or guides the team to remove impediments that may obstruct the completion of the team's projects and sprint goals

Supports Agile delivery teams:

• Facilitate Scrum events
• Ensure vision, goals, scope, and product domain are understood by everyone on the Scrum team
• Find techniques for effective product backlog management
• Help the Scrum team understand the need for clear and concise product backlog items
• Partner with the Agile delivery team to arrange the product backlog for maximized value
• May help facilitate/coordinate inside and outside of the team to ensure requirements are defined and captured by the team, solicit feedback, communicate scope and schedules as well as set expectations
• May have responsibility for performance and coaching of staff and may have a participatory role in decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management for direct reports
• Performs other duties as assigned

What we are looking for…

• Required 3-5 years of agile experience as either a scrum master or product owner
• Has a certification from either Scrum.org or the Agile Alliance
• Has a background in the insurance or financial industry
• Proven record of being a collaborative problem solver and a servant leader
• Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) preferred
• Understands how to leverage metrics to drive change
• Is a thought leader who has the ability and interest to creatively solve complex problems that extend beyond traditional scrum team boundaries
