Job summary

JSR Tech Consulting in Newark, NJ seeks a seasoned Scrum Master for a long-term contract-to-hire role. You will coach teams, partner with product owners and tech leads, and guide delivery professionals to improve end-user experience.

You will promote Agile values, remove impediments, and help teams deliver robust solutions with measurable business impact. Financial industry experience is highly preferred and you will be a servant leader enabling cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer, or comparable Agile delivery leadership role.
• Leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts and perspectives to the benefit of the organization.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
• Knowledge of business concepts, tools and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business.
• Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges.
• Excellent problem solving, communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners in understanding needs and defining feature stories, tech leads in defining technical design and other team members to understand the system end-to-end and deliver robust solutions that bring about business impact.
• Bring an understanding of relevant and emerging technologies, begin to identify opportunities to provide feedback to the team, and embed learning and innovation in the day-to-day.
• Work on problems of diverse scope in which analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
• Ensures the team(s) lives Agile values and principles and follow the processes and practices that they agreed-upon to deliver the committed solutions.
• Responsible for promoting and supporting Agile principles by helping everyone understand applied theories, practices, rules, and value.
• True servant leader who serves the team(s) and larger organization
• Supports those outside the aligned team(s) to understand which of their interactions with the team(s) are effective and which aren't; helps everyone change these interactions to improve the value built by the Agile team
• Supports all aspect of risk management and impediment resolution

Long term contract to hire Scrum Master position.

Financial industry experience is highly preferred.

The Skills & Expertise You Bring:

• Proven experience as a Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer, or comparable Agile delivery leadership role
• Leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts and perspectives to the benefit of the organization
• Experience with agile development methodologies
• Knowledge of business concepts, tools and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business

Experience with several of the following:

• Familiarity and expertise with Agile principles and frameworks, including story writing and estimation, facilitation, and identification and implementation of continuous improvement (CI)
• Experience working and proficiency in performing the role of Scrum Master, including on teams charged with highly complex outcomes
• Expertise in facilitation and tracking of Objectives & Key Results (OKRs), prioritization, backlog refinement, and specialty workshops.
• Proven capabilities in: (i) delivery, (ii) reporting and metrics, (iii) Agile toolchains (Jira, Jira Align, Miro, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in serving as a Scrum Master within the financial services industry on multiple teams
• Experience with Project Management
• Understanding of Device Lifecycle Management a plus
