Job summary

Randstad USA in Culver City seeks an experienced Scrum Master to coach our Agile teams, drive Scrum ceremonies, and ensure effective backlog management. You will partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software and services with a focus on continuous improvement.

The role requires strong facilitation, coaching, and communication skills, plus the ability to influence across organizational levels in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of product or project development experience in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Proactive Scrum advocate with strong communication and coaching skills.
  • Ability to influence a wide range of people and handle resistance to change.
  • Knowledge of Agile values and principles.
  • Experience refining backlog, story splitting, estimation, velocity, and Scrum concepts.
  • Experience facilitating meetings at multiple organizational levels.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and coach the Scrum Team on Agile practices to deliver high-quality products and services.
  • Oversee team maturation to a high-performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing coaching techniques.
  • Ensure Scrum is understood and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Product Owner to ensure the Product Backlog is well-defined, prioritized, and visible.
  • Work closely with team members and stakeholders to identify and remove impediments.
  • Facilitate and support all Scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective with ad-hoc Backlog Refinement.
  • Assist Project leadership with preparation for Sprint Reviews and Finance Steering Committee meeting.
  • Assist Project leadership in monitoring, tracking and analyzing project costs in relation to budgets and forecasts.

Job description

  • o Ensure Scrum is understood and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines.

  • o Work closely with team members and stakeholders to identify and remove team
  • o Facilitate and support all Scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective with ad-hoc Backlog Refinement (as needed)
  • Do the job that needs to be done – champion and cultivate the “Impact Player” culture here at SPE by stepping outside pre-assigned job functions and help wherever it’s needed.
  • Assist Project leadership with preparation for Sprint Reviews and Finance Steering Committee meeting.
  • Assist Project leadership in monitoring, tracking and analyzing project costs in relation to cost budgets, forecasts, and contracts.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of product or project development experience in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Passionate Scrum advocate and Scrum Skills
  • Ability to influence a wide range of people, including people who are resistant to change and/or apathetic
  • Exemplify and promotes Agile values and principles
  • Highly proactive, takes initiative, displays a strong work ethic and maintains a positive attitude
  • Intermediate level of JIRA experience, ideally as an Administrator
  • Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills
  • Knowledge of traditional project management principles and practices
  • Adept at refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection, vertical slicing and other Scrum concepts and techniques
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of an organization and an understanding of advanced facilitation techniques
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel
