Job description

Awetomaton is seeking a Scrum Master to support Agile software development teams in delivering high-value products and services. In this role, you will work closely with a Senior Scrum Master, Product Owners, technical team members, and stakeholders to facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove impediments, support effective Agile practices, and promote a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, passionate about Agile ways of working, and eager to grow their skills in servant leadership, facilitation, coaching, and Agile delivery. This position will initially work under the guidance and mentorship of a Senior Scrum Master while progressively taking ownership of team-level responsibilities.

An active TS/SCI clearance is preferred; however, clearance sponsorship may be available for highly qualified candidates. This position will be performed at our corporate office in Beavercreek, Ohio. We are actively considering candidates for an August 2026 start date.

Criteria for success
  • Servant Leadership – Leads by supporting the team rather than directing it.
  • Facilitation – Creates productive conversations and helps teams reach meaningful outcomes.
  • Communication – Communicates clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Emotional Intelligence – Builds trust, recognizes team dynamics, and handles difficult conversations professionally.
  • Continuous Improvement – Looks for opportunities to make the team's process and outcomes better.
  • Data-Informed Thinking – Uses metrics and observations to understand delivery performance rather than relying solely on assumptions.
  • Adaptability – Understands that Agile is a mindset and adapts practices to the needs of the team and organization.
  • Relationship Building – Establishes credibility and trust with team members, stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Progressively operate with greater independence while requiring less guidance from the Senior Scrum Master.
  • Demonstrate continuous growth in facilitation, coaching, conflict resolution, communication, and Agile leadership.
  • Contribute to improved team health, transparency, flow, predictability, and the team's ability to continuously deliver value.
Required Experience and Skills
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of demonstrated experience working with Scrum teams and supporting software development projects in an Agile environment.
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) and/or Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM) certification.
  • Understanding of Agile principles and Scrum practices.
  • Strong communication, organization, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate with individuals across different roles and levels of an organization.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to receive coaching, learn continuously, and grow into increased responsibility.
Desired Education and Experience
  • Experience with Jira, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Lucid, or similar Agile delivery tools.
  • Experience working with software development or DevOps teams.
  • Familiarity with Scrum, Kanban, flow metrics, or continuous-flow delivery.
  • Experience facilitating meetings, workshops, retrospectives, or team-building activities.
  • Experience using Agile metrics to identify trends and support continuous improvement.
  • Exposure to Agile Release Planning, Program Increment planning, or other multi-team planning environments.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance preferred; sponsorship available for highly qualified candidates.
