Job summary

VHC Health seeks a Scrub Technician for Labor and Delivery on a part-time basis in Arlington, VA. You will prepare the OR environment and equipment, assist with instrumentation and supplies, and support the circulating RN to ensure a smooth perioperative experience.

The role requires a high school diploma, VA-licensed Surgical Technologist, and BLS certification; one year of scrub experience is preferred and surgical technology certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Licensed Surgical Technologist by the Virginia Department of Health Professions is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• One year of scrub experience is preferred.
• Certification in Surgical Technology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the OR environment, equipment, instrumentation and supply utilization for perioperative patients.
• Coordinate with the circulating RN and work in concert with department goals.

Purpose & Scope:

The OR Scrub Technician is accountable for the technical functions related to the patient’s perioperative experience. The functions of this role include preparing the OR environment, and equipment, instrumentation and supply utilization. He / she is responsible to the circulating RN and works in concert with the philosophy and goals of the department.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience:

One year of scrub experience is preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

Licensed Surgical Technologist by the Virginia Department of Health Professions is required.

Certification in Surgical Technology is preferred.

BLS certification is required.
