Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System in Gainesville, GA seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our full-time float pool in daytime hours across Lumpkin, Habersham and Gainesville campuses.

You will scrub in OR, prepare instrumentation, assist with cases, and maintain sterile fields while following safety and infection control policies. Requires CST, HS diploma or GED, and at least 1 year of surgical tech experience; associates preferred.

Qualifications

• Certification required: CST.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Associates Degree preferred.
• Hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functions as scrub person in the Operating Rooms and assumes other duties as assigned.
• Sets up cases with proper instrumentation and supplies prior to start of case.
• Follows hand asepsis and maintains organized sterile field.
• Performs sponge, needle, and instrument counts with RN circulator.
• Prepares specimens and delivers to pathology with correct labeling.
• Monitors equipment, maintains sterility, and assists with turnover and cleanup.
• Is available for overtime and call coverage within 30 minutes.
