Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist to function as a scrub in the operating room and perform related duties under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Requirements include CST certification, a high school diploma or GED, and graduation from an accredited surgical technology program with at least 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Surgical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Functions as scrub person in the Operating Rooms and assists as assigned.
• Sets up cases with proper instrumentation and supplies before start of procedures.
• Maintains sterile field and follows hand asepsis policy.
• Prepares specimens and labels correctly for pathology.
• Monitors equipment and assists with room setup/cleanup.
• Reports problems to supervisor and participates in overtime/call coverage as needed.
