Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the Surgical Services Resource Pool in Gainesville / Habersham / Lumpkin. This full-time position runs 7:00 am to 5:30 pm in a 10-hour morning-afternoon shift and supports patients from infancy to geriatric care in the OR.

The role requires a CST certification, a high school diploma or GED, and at least one year of surgical technologist experience. Associates degree and hospital experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensure or other certifications: Certified Surgical Technologist.
• Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Minimum Experience: One (1) year experience as a Surgical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Functions as scrub person in the Operating Rooms and assumes other duties as assigned.
• Sets up cases with proper instrumentation and supplies prior to start of case.
• Follows hospital policy for hand asepsis and maintains sterile field.
• Demonstrates competency in preparing specimens and operating patient care equipment.
• Maintains organized sterile field and proper instrument counts with RN circulator.
