OrthoVirginia in Springfield, VA is seeking a part-time Medical Scribe to document patient encounters in real time within the EMR, including histories, medications, allergies, exams, assessments, and treatment plans.

You will enter orders, referrals, imaging requests, and therapies, support workflow, and help maintain patient confidentiality in a fast-paced clinical setting. Strong attention to detail, familiarity with medical terminology, and ability to learn Epic EMR are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in healthcare, science, or related field.
  • Coursework in biology, anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, exercise science, health sciences, public health, or related disciplines.
  • Typing proficiency of 60+ words per minute preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical documentation practices.
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems; Epic EMR preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately document patient encounters within the EMR in real time.
  • Record patient histories, medications, allergies, review of systems, and exam findings.
  • Document provider-directed diagnoses, procedures, treatments, and education.
  • Enter provider-directed orders, referrals, imaging requests, and therapies.
  • Assist with administrative and clinical support tasks to facilitate workflow.
  • Coordinate communication with providers, staff, and administrative teams.
