Job summary

OrthoVirginia Inc. is seeking candidates for clinical support roles assisting orthopedic teams across multiple locations. The role focuses on accurate real-time EMR documentation, patient history intake, and coordinating orders and referrals.

Ideal candidates have a healthcare-related bachelor’s or current enrollment, familiarity with medical terminology, and solid typing/computer skills. Epic EMR experience is preferred, with a strong emphasis on confidentiality and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or ongoing coursework in healthcare, science, or related field.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical documentation practices.
  • Experience using EMR systems; Epic EMR preferred.
  • Typing speed of 60+ wpm preferred.
  • Ability to learn and navigate electronic medical record systems.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately document patient encounters in the EMR in real time.
  • Record patient histories, medications, allergies, systems review, exam findings, assessments and plans.
  • Document provider-directed diagnoses, procedures, treatments, and education.
  • Enter orders, referrals, imaging requests, therapies, and other services.
  • Assist with administrative and clinical tasks to support workflow and clinic efficiency.
  • Coordinate with providers, clinical staff, and admin teams.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Complete required training and competency requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
