Main Duties & Responsibilities
- JOB SUMMARY: Set up and operate various screw machines for manufacturing precision aircraft quality fasteners.
- Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies:
- Reads and interprets documents (blueprints, drawings, or manufacturing work orders) to determine necessary tools and materials for producing products to precision tolerances according to aircraft specifications.
- Sets up and operates all assigned screw machines and related products, including settings and adjustments to meet specifications. Selects, mounts, and aligns tooling attachments and materials properly. Makes necessary adjustments to ensure acceptable quality.
- Monitors production using measuring devices such as comparators, micrometers, calipers, and other inspection gauges.
- Reworks tooling as needed and oversees reworking processes.
- Maintains accurate statistical process control records for each job, making adjustments during production based on SPC data.
- Ensures productivity and quality standards are consistently met to support departmental goals and schedules.
- Performs minor preventative maintenance on assigned machines.
- Maintains record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and adheres to safety regulations.
Pay Scale: Ranges from $20.67 to $38.46 per hour.
Qualifications
- Other Competencies:
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED. At least four years of experience operating screw machines or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand, use hands, talk, and hear. Occasionally required to walk, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
