Job summary

Nucor is seeking a Scale Operator to accurately weigh and purchase inbound scrap, obtain essential customer information, and complete purchase and shipping documents while supporting yard traffic control. The role includes general office tasks and strong customer service in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent customer service.
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; ability to learn in-house systems.
Reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime/outdoors.

Responsibilities

Weigh and purchase inbound scrap and complete purchasing and shipping documents.
Obtain required information from customers for all transactions.
Help control yard traffic patterns and provide general office administration.
Serve as back-up cashier and greeter as needed.
Cross-train in other positions and assist teammates.
