Job summary

SA Recycling in Macon, GA is seeking an Inspector to observe and verify material deliveries against quality and quantity specifications. This role involves yard duties, material sorting, unloading assistance, and strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.

The Inspector will work outdoors in all weather conditions, communicate effectively under pressure, and ensure customers follow proper procedures for selling recyclables, with backup support across the yard as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of raw materials and production processes.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming loads for acceptable materials.
• Identify non-conforming items and deduct weight as needed.
• Communicate clearly and handle stressful situations.
• Ensure customers follow procedures for selling recyclables.
• Guide semi-trucks in and out of the yard and maintain traffic flow.
• Coordinate with weighmaster and machine operator for each load.
• Sort materials for processing and move items to storage daily.
• Assist with unloading materials one at a time.
• Clean and maintain the work area daily.
• Follow safety guidelines and OSHA procedures.
• Provide yard coverage as needed or assigned.
