Job summary

Sims Metal is seeking a Yard Supervisor to oversee scrap processing operations, promote an accident-free and compliant workplace, and supervise yard personnel. The role covers daily operations, equipment maintenance, and safety compliance across the yard.

The candidate should have 3–5 years in the industry, 2+ years in supervision, and an undergraduate degree or equivalent. Spanish is a plus, with strong communication and analytical skills essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or equivalent experience in a related field preferred.
• Experience in yard supervision and safety oversight recommended.
• Strong analytical and math skills required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee yard operations and guide staff to ensure efficiency and safety.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance and inspections on a regular basis.
• Work with site, regional teams, vendors, and customers to meet goals.
• Enforce safety regulations and maintain records of maintenance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and direct repairs as needed.
