Job summary

Sims Limited is seeking a dedicated worker to assist in the daily operations of the yard, sorting and handling scrap metal in outdoor industrial environments. You will help load/unload materials, prepare scrap for shipment, and maintain a clean, safe work site with proper PPE.

This role supports our goal of a zero-harm workplace and responsible recycling. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, forklift certification, and prior experience in recycling or industrial settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Forklift certified.
• Must be able to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Previous experience in a recycling, scrap, or industrial environment preferred.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs. and perform physical labor in outdoor or industrial conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform & maintain general housekeeping.
• Load and unload materials manually or with the use of a forklift.
• Sort and separate metals (ferrous vs. non-ferrous) according to type and grade.
• Assist with preparing scrap materials for shipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work site.
• Follow proper safety procedures and wear required PPE.
