Job summary

SA Recycling LLC is seeking an experienced Material Handler to operate hydraulic cranes (grapple or magnet) to load and unload containers, sort scrap, and move materials around the yard. This outdoor role requires adherence to safety standards and involves lifting and coordinating with yard personnel.

Working hours are 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday, with Saturday 7:00 am to noon. Applicants should be prepared for varying weather and be committed to safety and efficiency in a

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent work experience.
• 1+ year experience operating Liebherr or Sennebogen material handlers in scrap metal/demolition.
• 1+ year experience operating heavy equipment in scrap metal/demolition industries is highly desired.
• Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus; ability to follow written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of assigned equipment per policy to ensure windows, lights, mirrors, cameras, and safety features are clean and operable.
• Continuously check equipment condition to minimize downtime and keep it operational.
• Operate wheeled material handlers (Liebherr or Sennebogen) to load and unload scrap metal and debris for processing or shipping.
• Determine load weights and verify against lifting capacities to prevent overloads and hazards.
• Identify, grade, and sort inbound scrap; reject unacceptable items.
• Direct truck drivers into proper position for loading/unloading scrap material.
• Aid in yard organization to meet production goals.
• Perform routine maintenance such as fueling, lubricating, and cleaning of assigned machines.
• Report any concerns, defects, or repairs after daily inspections to supervisor.
