Job summary

SA Recycling is seeking a Heavy Equipment Crane Operator/Material Handler to lift, sort, and load scrap metal with a hydraulic grapple or crane. The role requires operating equipment outdoors in varying weather and maintaining a safe work area.

You will perform daily inspections and ensure loads stay within crane capacities while following all company safety rules. Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, pass background/drug tests, and possess experience with Caterpillar or

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent
• Must pass background, drug screen and physical
• Experience operating Caterpillar or Sennebogen heavy equipment
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
• Ability to follow written/oral instructions and learn new tasks

Responsibilities

• Sort scrap and debris for processing
• Operate hydraulic grapple or magnetic crane to lift, sort, and load/unload materials
• Maintain a safe work environment for staff and visitors
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report defects
• Assess load weights and ensure safe lifting within capacity
• Adhere to SA Recycling safety, health, and environmental policies
