Metalico- is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to drive procurement and pricing of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals from diverse suppliers and industrial accounts in the Pittsburgh area. The role emphasizes market trend tracking, accurate grading, and profitability in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have a strong sales background, 5+ years in outside sales, and a passion for the scrap metal industry.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma; college degree in business or engineering is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for selling and relationship building.
• Self-motivation, goal orientation, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are required.

Responsibilities

• Purchase ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals from suppliers and customers.
• Be aware of major local construction demolition projects to salvage metals.
• Ensure purchased materials meet quality and specification requirements.
• Identify, sort, grade, and price scrap materials accurately.
• Monitor market trends and report pricing conditions to management.
• Maintain purchase records, scale tickets, and documentation.
• Interact with Operations for accurate grading and input purchases at the scale.
• Coordinate with yard operations for unloading, sorting, and inventory control.
• Maintain a list of industrial accounts and reach out regularly to buy material.
