Job summary

PAQ, Inc. is seeking a Self-Checkout (SCO) Attendant to supervise multiple SCO stations, process transactions, and assist customers in a fast-paced retail environment. This role requires friendly service, accuracy in scanning and payments, and adherence to store policies.

On-site position with weekends/evenings likely, supporting store operations and other departments as needed. No prior experience is required; on‑the‑job training is provided, and the pay range is $17.25–$24.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to provide friendly customer service.
• Accurate cash handling and basic math skills.
• Experience operating POS/SCO systems is a plus.
• Strong communication with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly customer service at SCO stations and resolve concerns with supervisor assistance as needed.
• Supervise and operate SCO stations, ensuring accurate item scanning and payment processing.
• Keep SCO stations and POS equipment operational and troubleshoot issues.
• Manage customer flow at SCO to minimize wait times.
• Assist customers with scanning, payment methods, and bagging purchases.
• Monitor SCO area to deter theft and ensure policy compliance.
• Identify produce items and apply correct codes.
• Process all payment forms (cash, checks, coupons, debit/credit, EBT, WIC).
• Answer customer questions using store layout and product knowledge.
