Food Lion in China Grove, NC is seeking a SCO Ambassador to guide customers through the Self-Checkout (SCO) lanes and ensure a Fast and Easy checkout experience. You will engage customers as they approach SCO and help them use the hand scanner, moving fluidly through the SCO area with a focus on service.

This role emphasizes assisting with carts, monitoring scans, and keeping the SCO zone clean and stocked to support a smooth shopping flow in a busy retail setting.

Responsibilities

The SCO Ambassador should move through the SCOs as follows:

• SCO Located
• No Customers Present
• Customers Present
• Between Registers
• Stand between the grocery aisle and SCO location to guide customers to the SCO lanes
• Engage with all customers as they approach and utilize SCO. Use the Mobile Attendant while moving fluidly through the SCO area watching for customer cues to assist.
• Horizontal Corral
• Be available outside the corral to engage customers to use the SCO
• Be actively engaged with customers and move fluidly within the horizontal corral area watching for customer cues to assist.
• Assist customers with cart needs, if a customer seems to be in need of a cart in the SCO area, retrieve one for the customer
• Assist customers on how to use SCO properly including use of the hand scanner for a Fast and Easy checkout experience
• React quick and assist customer needs to create a Fast and Easy checkout experience Show customers how to use the hand scanner for a Fast and Easy checkout experience
• Monitor SCO as customers ring up groceries
• Watch for BOB and proper scanning by the customers
• Ensure the customer properly scans items and places them in the bag or appropriately places in the bagging area if no bag is needed
• (Select Stores Only) After customers scan BOB items, place the Paid/Purchased sticker on one of the items on the bottom of the basket where it will be easily visible
• When assisting a customer (approving a void, completing an age verification, etc.)
• Always engage with the customer and make the customer aware, even when using the Mobile Attendant
• Every approval should come with a conversation
• Maintain a clean and stocked SCO area (bag supplies, receipt paper, trash, hand baskets, carts, etc.)
