Job summary

H MART MD Warehouse is seeking a SCM Associate to source, negotiate, and manage procurement of trending products for distribution across H Mart locations. You will focus on maximizing warehouse profitability through strategic vendor management and data-driven decision making in SAP.

The role requires 1–3 years in purchasing/SCM, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and proficiency in SAP and Excel. English and Korean bilingual communication is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, SCM, Logistics, or related field.
• 1–3 years in purchasing, procurement, or SCM in retail or food industry.
• Proficiency in SAP (Item Master, PO creation) preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) for data analysis.
• Bilingual English and Korean preferred for vendor communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead vendor negotiations on product availability, specs, distribution, deadlines, and pricing to optimize COGS.
• Evaluate suppliers based on quality, price, documentation, and shipping reliability.
• Identify and purchase new trending items to maintain competitive edge.
• Perform market analysis and competitive shopping to anticipate trends.
• Analyze sales trends and coordinate marketing for new arrivals.
• Investigate and address inventory/product issues from stores.
• Generate and review daily/weekly sales reports for warehouse profitability.
• Create and maintain Item Master Data in SAP (descriptions, UPC, pricing).
• Analyze data to identify slow-moving items and improve turnover.

Description

The SCM Associate is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of trending products to be distributed across H Mart locations. This role focuses on maximizing warehouse-level profitability through strategic vendor management, market trend analysis, and meticulous data management within the SAP system.

Responsibilities but not limited to:

• Lead negotiations with vendors regarding product availability, specifications, distribution logistics, deadlines, and pricing to ensure optimal COGS (Cost of Goods Sold)
• Continuously evaluate existing and potential suppliers based on product quality, pricing competitiveness, documentation compliance, and shipping reliability
• Identify and purchase new, trending items to maintain H Mart’s competitive edge in the market
• Perform regular market analysis and competitive shopping to stay ahead of consumer trends
• Analyze sales trends to identify "the next big hit" and coordinate marketing efforts for new arrivals
• Investigate and provide timely responses to inventory or product issues reported from the field/stores
• Generate and review daily/weekly sales reports to monitor performance and profitability at the warehouse level
• Create and maintain accurate Item Master Data in SAP, including Item Descriptions, Scan Codes (UPC), and pricing
• Analyze data to identify slow-moving items and implement strategies to improve warehouse turnover

Qualifications / Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
• 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or SCM (preferably in the retail or food industry)
• Proficiency in SAP (Item Master, PO creation) is highly preferred
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) for data analysis
• Detail-oriented, strong negotiation skills, and a proactive mindset for trend spotting
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Korean is often preferred for vendor communication
