What you will do

Join our innovative Medicinal Chemistry team, responsible for the design, synthesis, and purification of novel compounds for potential clinical drug development. You will also have the opportunity to work within Amgen's Induced Proximity Platform (IPP), focusing on novel approaches to modulate intractable targets using the PROTAC modality.

• Develop, implement, and perform organic reactions, troubleshoot synthetic routes, scout new synthetic methods, and perform complex synthetic chemistry.
• Contribute to the design of new compounds and the development of structure-activity relationships.
• Perform structural determinations using NMR and mass spectrometry techniques, and purify compounds using various methods.
• Recognized as a lab leader with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Maintain laboratory notebooks, participate in meetings, present findings, and assist in writing papers and patent applications.

• Doctorate in chemistry or related field, or
• Master's degree with 2+ years of laboratory experience, or
• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of laboratory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Doctorate in organic synthesis or 6+ years of related experience (academic or industrial) by June 2025.
• Peer-reviewed publications and a track record of accomplishments.
• Ability to troubleshoot synthetic routes and perform complex synthesis.
• Strong understanding of structural determination and purification methods.
• Good lab practices with safety focus.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
