Job summary

Advanced Group in Ridgefield, CT seeks a Research Associate/Scientist to support discovery research by performing mammalian cell culture, cell-based assays, and automated workflows. The role also covers DNA/RNA extraction, PCR/qPCR, and protein analysis to generate high-quality data for target validation.

The candidate will work with cross-functional teams across biology, genomics, automation, and bioinformatics, maintaining rigorous documentation and SOP compliance while advancing

Qualifications

• Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience or Bachelor's with 7+ years.
• Hands-on mammalian cell culture, cell biology, and cell-based assays.
• Experience with NGS workflows and molecular biology techniques.
• Familiarity with automation platforms or high-throughput workflows.
• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to execute complex protocols.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammalian cell culture, cell-based assays, and related experiments.

• Perform NGS workflows, including sample and library prep, QC, and sequencing support.

Key Responsibilities

Position Overview

We are seeking a Research Associate/Scientist to support discovery research through cell culture, cell-based assays, laboratory automation, and genomics workflows. This role will contribute to target validation and research programs by generating high-quality data, executing established protocols, and supporting automated and NGS-based workflows.

• Perform mammalian cell culture, cell-based assays, and related laboratory experiments.
• Execute and support automated workflows for cell-based and molecular biology applications.
• Perform NGS workflows, including sample preparation, library preparation, quality control, and sequencing support.
• Conduct molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, and protein analysis.
• Analyze experimental results, troubleshoot routine issues, and communicate findings to project teams.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, sample tracking, and documentation in compliance with SOPs and data integrity requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across biology, genomics, automation, and bioinformatics.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, cell biology, and cell-based assays.
• Experience with NGS workflows and molecular biology techniques.
• Familiarity with laboratory automation, automated instrumentation, or high-throughput workflows.
• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to execute complex protocols with accuracy.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating laboratory automation platforms.
• Experience with sequencing instrument setup or operation.
• Experience with iPSC culture, differentiation, or stem cell-derived assays.
• Experience with organoid culture systems.
• Experience supporting discovery or translational research programs.
