Job summary

Recombia Biosciences, part of the Lesaffre Group, is seeking a Scientist II in Automated Strain Engineering (AuSE) to drive high-throughput cloning and yeast strain construction. You will develop new cloning methodologies, scale them to automated workflows, and collaborate with automation engineers to translate lab protocols into scalable processes.

Qualifications

• PhD in molecular biology or related field with 2+ years of industry experience, or Master's with 7+ years.
• Expert-level molecular biology techniques: cloning, genome editing, DNA assembly, and sequencing.
• Experience with Saccharomyces cerevisiae and other microbes.
• Ability to analyze sequencing data and perform QC.
• Experience with high-throughput workflows; DOE a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize high-throughput cloning and strain construction workflows.
• Translate benchtop protocols into automation-friendly formats.
• Collaborate with automation engineers and software developers.
• Mentor junior researchers and contribute to lab operations.
• Apply Python or R for autonomous data analysis and visualization.
• Maintain safety culture and quality controls.
