Job summary

HD Biosciences, Inc. (San Diego), a WuXi AppTec Company, is expanding its Plate-based Pharmacology team.

We’re seeking a highly skilled Scientist to develop assays in biochemical and cell-based formats for SAR screening in 96 or 384-well formats, with a deep understanding of Immunology and cell biology. Experience with mammalian cell culture, automated liquid handling, and methods such as luminescence, fluorescence, and ELISA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience with cell-based and biochemical assays.
• 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• PhD preferred in Biochemistry, Immunology or Cell Biology.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and perform projects for functional assay development.
• Support target discovery and validation by developing assays (ELISA, FACS, kinetic assays).
• Develop assays in biochemical and cell-based formats for SAR screening (96/384-well).
• Communicate results effectively with internal teams and external clients.
• Ensure compliance with GLP/GMP and WuXi AppTec SOPs.

We’re seeking a highly skilled and motivated Scientist to develop assays in biochemical and cell based formats that are suitable for SAR screening in 96 or 384-well formats. Deep understanding of Immunology and cell biology and experience in mammalian cell culture and automatic liquid handling techniques. Experience with methods such as High content imaging, FACS and ELISA assay is preferred.

• Design, implement, and perform projects for functional assay development.
• Proven hands-on experience with cell based assays and biochemical assays.
• Support target discovery and validation efforts by independently developing and performing assays to evaluate biologic drug candidates, such as ELISA, FACS, Kinetic assays, etc.
• Develop assays in biochemical and cell based formats that are suitable for SAR screening in 96 or 384-well formats.
• Deep understanding of Immunology and cell biology and experience in mammalian cell culture and automatic liquid handling techniques.
• Experience with methods such as luminescence, fluorescence, absorbance is preferred
• Scientific creativity, critical thinking and fast learning capabilities.
• Industrial drug R&D experience is a plus
• Effectively communicate with internal team colleagues and external clients to promote a world-class services.

Essential Job Functions

• Provides operational support for (Specific Dept.) activities including (Ex. media/buffer preparation, cleaning activities, and equipment/materials staging/ Aseptic Technique).
• Works on routine assignments per written procedures, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
• Normally receives minimal instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.
• Works under close supervision from supervisor or senior personnel.
• Performs support functions (e.g. Runner function) in the (fill in Specific Dept.)
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required
• Maybe required to work Holidays and weekends
• Maybe required to work Overtime (Remove only for Exempt positions)
• Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals
• Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Thorough understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices
• Other duties as assigned
• May be required to assist in other departments
• 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent
• PhD degree preferred in Biochemistry, Immunology and Cell Biology etc.
• Demonstrated strong understanding of complex scientific procedures with technical proficiency in Immunology and cell biology
• Industry experience in Pharma/Biotech or close exposures to R&D process is preferred.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills to seamlessly fit within a teamwork driven environment.

• Proficient in data analysis (Prism, Excel-Fit, Spot-fire etc.)

Anticipated salary range: $69,036 to $89,570
