HD Biosciences, Inc. (San Diego), a WuXi AppTec Company, is expanding its in vivo Pharmacology Division and seeking a motivated Research Associate to join the team.

You will perform hands-on histology procedures, tissue fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy, stains (H&E, IHC, IF, RNAscope), and contribute to study reports and documentation. A BS degree with 0–2 years of experience is required; strong communication and meticulous record-keeping are essential.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on histology/histopathology techniques required.
• Knowledge of tissue fixation and processing, paraffin embedding, microtomy and sectioning.
• Experience with H&E staining and slide quality assessment.
• Experience with IHC and/or immunofluorescence is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and data quality; good written and verbal communication.

Aufgaben

• Perform histology procedures including fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy and slide preparation.
• Conduct routine and special stains such as H&E, IHC, IF, RNAscope as applicable.
• Handle diverse tissue types and specimens per established protocols.
• Assist in collaboration with in vivo pharmacology team for tissue evaluation.
• Troubleshoot tissue processing and staining issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate lab records, sample tracking and study documentation.
• Develop, optimize and validate histology protocols as needed.

Overview

HD Biosciences, Inc. (San Diego), a WuXi AppTec Company, is expanding its in vivo Pharmacology Division. We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Research Associate to join the team.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands‑on histology procedures, including tissue fixation, processing, paraffin embedding, microtomy, and slide preparation.
• Perform routine and special histological stains, including H&E, immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunofluorescence (IF) assays, RNAscope, as applicable.
• Handle and process a variety of animal and human tissue types and biological specimens according to established protocols.
• Work closely with in vivo pharmacology team to support tissue evaluation.
• Troubleshoot tissue processing, sectioning, staining, and IHC‑related issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, study documentation, sample tracking, and experimental data.
• Develop, optimize, and validate histology and staining protocols when required.
• Analyze and summarize histological findings and contribute to study reports, presentations, and scientific documentation.

Qualifications

• • Demonstrated hands‑on experience in histology/histopathology laboratory techniques.
  • Practical experience with:
  • Tissue fixation and processing
  • Paraffin embedding
  • Microtomy and tissue sectioning
  • H&E staining
  • Slide preparation and quality assessment
  • Microscopic evaluation of tissue morphology
  • Experience with special stains and/or immunohistochemistry (IHC) is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of tissue morphology, histological structures, and pathological changes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to generating high‑quality, reproducible data.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.

  Experience / Education

  • S. degree with 0-2 years of experience

  Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills
  • Need to be able to read, write and understand English at proficient level
  • Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in an office environment with minimal noise conditions.
  • Must be able to work in Lab setting with exposure to Animals/biohazards / Chemicals (List specific Chemicals)
  • Must not have animal allergies to applicable species in this facility
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE
  • Must be able to work in environment with variable noise levels
  • Ability to stand /Sit/walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to Lift 10 lbs routinely
  • Ability to crouch, bend, twist, and reach
  • Ability to push/pull 10 lbs routinely/ often / occasionally
  • Clarity of Vision

Anticipated salary range: $18.60 to $25.00
